{19} work in this world

I am grateful that I have work in this world, that I find it hard sometimes, that I am able to move through my challenges, and know that my work is worth something.

{18} warmth

I am grateful for the simple fact that it is very cold outside, and I have the means and provisions to be warm inside my home, and inside my heart.

Monday, December 13, 2010

{17} tree

I have a grateful heart for : nut bread baked for neighbors (baking makes my house smell great!), snow storms, Christmas tree decorating, Christmas music, a fireplace... all of these and more...

Saturday, December 11, 2010

{16} sovereign

I am grateful for the simplicity of a day spent in my own company. For Indian food for breakfast, for Earth House coffee, for finding "Transitions" by Julia Cameron at the thrift store, for cleaning Landon's room, for a warm house on a cold day.....

{15} mechanics

I am grateful for a fixed car.

Friday, December 10, 2010

{14} companionship

I am grateful that I can sing with tears in my eyes, my voice and my heart. I feel such companionship at Blythe's graduation and such honor to have sung for those midwives during their hand blessing.
I also felt such love and welcoming from Blythe's family, as she has shared that I will be her new neighbor, and everyone was so joyful about that, and able to express it to me! That felt so good to my heart.

{13} song

I am grateful for music in my life, in all the ways that it happens and doesn't happen. I know I will get to drum with my sisters soon, now doesn't seem to be the season!

week 2

thursday: christmas songs sun by 9 year olds, a little off key, but with much, much heart and then a few hours later for singing too loud in the car, on a curvy road, with my daddy and using microphones made of twizzlers and a water bottle.
friday: walking the streets of a new city at night with a hero
saturday: being toasted and loved, running and dancing and loving back
sunday: flowers in a vase on the windowsill given by little hands
monday: finding the most perfect christmas tree in the woods near our home. one that is perfectly too big and charliebrownish, but is truly the kind of tree i've wanted all my life.
tuesday: supportive running partners, who have become friends
wednesday: a day spent with teak, creating with our hands gifts to give and sharing a delicious meal and midday toast

Gratitude 353

Grateful for long drives in flat land that inspire me to dwell in the up and down landscape of my inner world. In contemplating love and attachment, had this thought come to me on my drive to Muncie...

Attachment to the love I share and experience with another human will likely lead to happiness.
Attachment to the story that relationship forms in my mind will likely lead to disappointment.

{11} safe

I am grateful that my car made it home OK. (I will be even more grateful if it costs very little to fix.)

Gratitude 359

I am grateful for work, even though it meant that I spent 9+ hours in a small (and hot) conference room crowded with 8 people, laptops and several small trees worth of paper. But I'm even more grateful for the ashtanga yoga class i found after work tonight!

Wednesday, December 1, 2010
